Umbraco Cloud or in other words Umbraco Cloud Portal is a hosting platform for the Umbraco CMS projects and is a place where every project can be accessed. The Umbraco Cloud Portal is available on the https://www.s1.umbraco.io/projects URL or by clicking the green "Portal" button on the header.

Umbraco Backoffice is the name of the admin side of the Umbraco website and the place where the new content and pages can be created and edited. Every accessible Umbraco Backoffice will be shown in the Umbraco Cloud Portal.

If you need access to another Umbraco project to edit the content on the Umbraco Backoffice message one of the team members of the Onboarding team who will be happy to give appropriate access.

The Brochureware project is the new Umbraco solution that we - Onboarding team, have been building and improving since the start of 2023.

The new Umbraco is designed to give full freedom to the Content Creators to create any content they like and replace the old Umbraco which over the years became very limited, messy and hard to use. The new solution is made to be fast, responsive, accessible and it comes with the new colors and components. At the moment, the new Umbraco works only on the logged out views. However, we have seen massive improvements in SEO, website speed, Google rankings and had very positive feedback from the Content Creators on the system's ease of use, thus, we highly recommend building all the pages on the new Umbraco!

The new Umbraco is available on all the websites in all the countries - UK, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden, but only on the logged out views. Thus, any content which needs to be created for logged in pages needs to be created on the old Umbraco.

The future plans are to move everything onto the new Umbraco (including the logged in views), however, there is no date confirmed when this is going to happen.

If the current Umbraco components limit the page creation capabilities and restrict the design that you would like to create, we would be happy to hear how our Umbraco solution can be improved!

Please get in touch with the Onboarding team and we will put a feature development ticket into our backlog. The new feature will be put in a development queue for the next Umbraco improvements period, which happens every other quarter.

All pages should be created on the Development environment, thus, head to the Development environment Umbraco Backoffice. New pages can be created in the Umbraco Backoffice Content section.

To create a new page follow these steps:

1. Click on the node (page) on which you would like to create a new page. The new page will be placed below the selected node.
2. Select the Content Page and then (if applicable) select a Blank page or select one of the Content Templates.
3. Create a name for the page, this will be the name that is used for the page URL.
4. Fill in the meta Page Title and Page Description in the SEO section and save the page.
5. Go to Content section and click Add content.
6. Create a range of Section Layouts and Page Components.
7. Modify the Section Layouts and Page Components by applying different settings.
8. Click Save and preview button and check the results.
9. Repeat the steps 6-8 until you are happy with the results.
10. Go to Routing section and disable the Disable Route toggle (this should be made inactive - toggled off).
11. Click Save and publish button. If you don't see this button, that means you don't have permissions to do this. Click Send to publish and wait until one of the Publishers is going to approve and publish the page.
12. Transfer the page to the Live environment by following the Content Transfer guide page.

All content should be created on the Development environment and transferred to Live website. During the content transfer the content and/or pages will go through all three environments - Development, Stage and Live.

The content and/or pages can be transferred to live website in 6 easy steps:

1. In the Umbraco Backoffice Content section right click on the node (page) to be transferred and click Queue for transfer... button.
2. Confirm the action by clicking on the green Queue for transfer button.
3. Click Open transfer queue button or go to Workspaces view.
4. Check that all the content in the transfer queue is correct and click the green Transfer to Staging button.
5. Check that the content transfer succeeds and the Transfer complete message is displayed.
6. Repeat the steps 1-5 on the Stage environment Umbraco Backoffice to transfer content to Live.

In case of an error, the best course of action is to check that all of the content is correctly setup and try doing a content transfer again. If this doesn't help, contact one of the members of the Onboarding team who will be happy to help.
